The BBT philosophy

Why Books, Beans & Things Exists

The One Thing

The internet does not need more things to consume nearly as much as we need better ways to benefit from what deserves our attention.

Why This?

BBT is not ultimately about books, coffee, or products. Those are places curiosity can begin.

Books, Beans & Things sounds like a list.

It is not really a list.

Books are obvious sources of ideas. Beans give us coffee, but coffee is also a setting—a reason to slow down, gather, notice, and talk. Things gives us room for tools, technology, places, objects, experiences, experiments, and whatever else turns out to be worth exploring.

The categories are not the point.

Attention is.

We live with extraordinary access to information. We can save articles, highlight books, subscribe to podcasts, bookmark videos, screenshot ideas, and ask AI to summarize almost anything. That abundance is useful. It also makes moving on very easy.

BBT begins with a different question:

What here is worth carrying forward?

Sometimes the answer becomes a deeper exploration. Sometimes it becomes something worth trying. Sometimes the idea simply deserves to be remembered. And sometimes another person belongs in the process.

That is where One Chat Closer enters.

One Chat Closer does not mean every conversation produces agreement. It means a worthwhile encounter can move us closer to understanding, clarity, another person, wisdom, action, or truth.

The hope for this site is modest and ambitious at the same time: notice worthwhile things, think about them carefully, make meaningful connections, and let some of them actually go somewhere.

Not more content for the sake of content.

Something worth carrying.
